Top 10 Strangest Houses In The World


Hello! Hola! Bonjour! and all possible language you might speak. This is Labelle Top 10 the blog we take all kinds of weird and wonderful things from all round of the world and turn them  into a nice little top 10 list so you guys don't have to.

But before we go into that , i will like to ask you a question . "If you could live anywhere in this world, where would it be?" Answer in the comment section.


This is the top 10 strangest house in the world.

10. The Transparent House

It is located in Tokyo, Japan. If you thought you didn't had privacy, well you should try living in this house. This house is 914 sq ft and of course it offers plenty of natural sunlight. It was built by Sou Fujimoto Architect and they wanted this house to feel like you are living in a tree. The house comprise of 21 individual floor, position at various height in order to resemble the branches of a tree.


9. The Flintstones House


It is a single storey structure with a rocky interior that looks exactly like Freddy Wilmer house from the flintstone. It's 25 sq ft cost to made house for Dick Clerk which located in the hills of Malibu. It has 2 bathrooms, 1 bed room , a fire place and several large windows. The interior is filled with stone features from the floor to the ceiling. The outer window  comes to a private beach and a beautiful view.


8. The Toilet House

Yes it exist! I don't know why someone will like to build this. A former mayor of South Korea built this two storey house in order to make the 2007 meeting of the World Toilet Association (WTAA). The 4520 sq ft house is made up of steel, concrete and glass. It worth about 1.1 million dollars. The house also features a roof top along side the toilet stair case and it's equiped with heavy duty rain water technology.


7. The Giant Seashell House



It is located in mexico. It was built back in 2006 and currently there is a family of four living inside this house. it features a large stain glass wall that reflects rainbow color. The living room has a plant cover flooring and then the routes are divided by long narrow pathway that run along in an official stream. The entire house is contracted out of ground crete which actually stronger than concrete. It's fire resistant and provide good insulation.

6.  The Bubble House


Also known as 'Palais Bulles'. This house is 12,916 square ft and really huge. This house is all living space that consist of an entity that can hold 500 people. It has a reception room of 10 suits. The garden pool spreads over 2.1 acres of land. All the spheres are constructed out of light weight merch and rod. Concrete is then poured around the frame to create a bubble look. This house is mostly used for festival parties and other big events as well.


5. The Airplane House


It was built in 1975 and was meant to resemble an airbus 8380 plane. This house is 2 floor, 34 holes of each side. In the tail of the plane. there is a small window where you can see the statue of the virgin Mary.  In case you are wondering, this house cannot fly.


4. The Egg House


A young architect in Beijing couldn't afford housing in his own city, so he design an egg shape house to sleep on the street. This house is 2 meters high and was built using bamboo frame and the exterior is made up of sleeping bags.  Even though this house isn't that great to look at. it features a lot of sustainable design, for example he planted a green seedlings on the exterior that will eventually cover the entire house. He also has solar panel that provides energy for his lamps to get electricity that he needs inside the house. This house has room that fits a bed, a water take and a small night table. 


3. The World's Thinnest House


It is located in Warsaw,Poland. This house measures just 5 ft wide. It is found between a house and a model apartment. Originally, this house suppose to be an art piece but now it is open for tenants.  This house features a micro kitchen, a mini bathroom, sleeping cubicle and a tiny work area which all accessible via ladders.


2. The Dumpster House


It is located in Austin, Texas actually situated inside a University Campus. A university professor named Jeff Wilson sold all of his belongings and he decided to live in a dumpster in order to experiment "With Just how little you need in life to be happy". This dumpster measures about 36 square feet and it is filled by sunlight and surfaced water from rain. It is complete with an air conditioning unit, a weather station, a mail box and has a 4 stall basement where he stores all his cooking supplies and his clothes. Jeff said there is so much benefit living in a dumpster, there is low rent, you don't pay much for utility, less time doing chores and sure to commit to work. I mean he is living where he works.


1. The Upside Down House

This house is one of the most popular tourist attractions located in Northern Poland. It was completed in 2007 and was originally design as an artwork to represent the end of the era war in Poland. It took contractors 5 times longer to build it into a conventional house. Visitors enter the upside down house through a roof window where they can walk on the ceiling. A lot of tourist who visit this, get the feeling of like sickness withing the few minutes. Even the furniture hangs from above. Just to get inside this house because it became so famous, you can expect a minimum of 6 hours to get inside. So make sure when you inside take your time.
