Top 10 Educational Shows For Children On TV



Hello! Hola! Bonjour! and all possible language you might speak. This is Labelle Top 10 the blog we take all kinds of weird and wonderful things from all round of the world and turn them  into a nice little top 10 list so you guys don't have to.

But before we go into that , i will like to ask you a question . "What is your favorite Animated TV show?" Answer in the comment section.


We've got the top 10 Educational TV shows for Kids down below and you don't have to be a kid to appreciate a good kid TV show



10. Dora The Explorer


The show features the ever smiling Dora who as the title suggest, takes young viewers on an adventure of learning through all kinds of puzzles that need to be solved, to be join by her talking purple bag pack and boot wearing monkey friend called 'Boots'. They will often need the viewers to help solve a puzzle and stop reoccurring bodies such as swiper and the grumpier troll. In the process, preschoolers are taught how to spell words and count their numbers and stop the grumpier troll in the process, which is pretty good because the grumpy old troll sounds like he sucks.



9. Clifford The Big Red Dog


The show based on the book series of the same name, first air on PBS Kid on September the 4th, 2000. Since then the lover board gigantic dog has captured the imagination and hearts of hundreds of thousands of kids all round the world. Two 15 minutes stories, made of each half an hour episode. One story shot as Clifford adventures with his friends which Cleo and T-Bone and the other was from the prospective of Emily, Clifford's human owner.  Clifford is still loved around the world for teaching kids lessons about appreciating differences in everyone no matter who you are, even if you're 25 foot tall dog.


8. Bill Nye The Science Guy


Bill Nye first hit our screen in 1993, with the aim of teaching kids about all things in science, in a lighthearted and funny way. It all took place in a Nye Laboratory where kids were shown all kinds of scientific concept through incitement such as the 'Nifty Home Experiment' and mock song parodies that took pop tracks and turn them into scientific round up of the episode topping. Unfortunately, i didn't get to see this show in my Country but in research in this blog post, i got to see a few episode on the internet and i got 2 things to say A- I'm jealous of anyone who got to see it and B- If you haven't seen it check it out.


7. The Magic School Bus


It was based on a book series of the same name, and meant to teach kids about science in a fun way. In a small school, a teacher named Ms. Frizzle takes up people on field trips in the magic school bus. A magical vehicle which can go anywhere throughout space in time, no matter how big or small to explore the scientific lessons of each episode. But if you missed the show when you were a kid, fail not because this year Netflix announced they're gonna make a new series called the 'magic bus 360' just another reason why Netflix is literally the best invention ever.


6. Barney & Friends


There are just three things you need to know about Barney. 1. He is a dinosaur 2. He is purple and 3. He loves music. Every episode barney shared educational messages aimed at children age 1-8. It runned for an impressive 17 years. Barney had it own theme song called 'Barney is a Dinosaur' and he will end the show with the 'i love you' song . Throughout the series, the audience was also introduced to some of Barney's friends including 'Baby Bop' and her brother 'B.J'


5. Teletubbies



When the teletubbies hit TV screen back in 1997, they took the world by storm. Starting in the UK, they won a ton of awards there and a teletubbies song even made to Number 1. They are four multi colours toddlers of a methodological alien specie. They are called 'tinky winky', 'dipsy', 'laa-laa' and 'po', and they communicated with each other basically in Jibrish. The strangest thing about the show for me is when their tummies use to light up like a TV screen and it will show a message teaching kids about something. It was pretty weird but i guess you got to do whatever it takes to teach toddlers. 

4. Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?


Famous for its catchy theme song . Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego was an educational game shown for kids that ran from 1991 to 1995. The contestant known as   had to help the crime-net detective agency track down criminal  mastermind carmen Sandiego and recover stolen cultural objects. They had to use their knowledge of geography to answer questions and track down Carmen's hinge men. Who ever got the most points, got the chance to find Carmen Sandiego herself and were tripped to anywhere in North America. 


3. Blues Clues


Blue was a blue spotty puppy who helped her owner 'Steve' solve puzzle in her house they lived in. Every episodes, they will play blues clues where blue will leave her paw prints on all kinds of objects as clues for Steve and the audience to find. The show ran from 1996 to 2004 on Nickelodeon and lasted for an impressive 142 episodes. 


2. Arthur

Arthur is an 8th year old    who lives in a fictional American city of Elwood City. Arthur his family and his friends show viewers how to deal with all kinds of important issues such as how to deal with asmer, dyslexia and even cancer in an informative but lighthearted way. Other member who character in the show included Arthur sister 'Diminou'  and his best friend 'Buster Baxter' .Apparently, Arthur is still being made and is gonna be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and it is the second longest running animated series behind the Simpson. 

1. Sesame Street



Sesame street first aired in America on the 10th of November, 1969 and hasn't looked back since. In the 46 years since it first appeared on TV, kids all over the world have learnt how to spell, count and care for each other by the people and puppets to live in sesame street. Unforgettable characters like 'Big Bird', 'Bert' and 'Ernie', have help millions of children to love to learn and learn to love before they even start step at school.
